Making an RPG Empty Making an RPG

I'm using a program called RPG Maker, because I was interested in learning how it worked.

I get most of the map making stuff and all of that, but my problem is....

I don't really know how scripting works.

Could someone please explain scripting to me? I really don't get it, and some enlightenment would be very helpful.

Oh and uh....
I wasn't really sure where I was supposed to put this, since the RPG is kind of a project but I'm also asking for help on a subject so I wasn't really sure where to put it so I put it here.
