Now I'm a bit scared

Nothing bad is going to happen. The amount of radiation we get in a year will hit the west coast in one day. It won't kill anyone with an average immune system.

You need a large amount of radiation intake to die from it. Small amounts might bring certain long-term illnesses, though.

I live here, but nothing's happened to me....yet.

Very true. It's safe to say, though, that no one is in any immediate danger.
