Ideas/inspiration needed
So I'm making a base in Minecraft. It's in a moutain but the stuff is not only inside it. The builds can be inside, around, on, under, or far away (once I get some more iron, gold and redstone). The idea's shouldn't be like "O MACK A 3D GAINT PENIS SHOTING JIZZ!" I would like it to be like ideas for an accutal base. Post lists of ideas/inspiration or pictures, links, and videos if you can. I really don't care what it is unless it's like I said back in the post.

Re: Ideas/inspiration needed
Isn't there a build mode that you can just build things with?
It would be way easier, and also I suggest making a base that goes very far underground such as missile bases.

Make a large cylindrical tube through the middle of the mountain as a vertical accessway to all floors, this way you can have a spiral staircase leading to multiple rooms and hallways. You should also add observation decks that stick out of the mountainside, multiple storage rooms and workshops, etc.

Make a big dark room with some trees in it, then inside the walls are rooms with little windows so you can kill monsters from the windows for fun.
If you're good with redstone circuits, you can also make it so, once pistons are added, you can flip a switch and blocks with torches will pop out of the ground.
Damn that sounds like a good idea.

Re: Ideas/inspiration needed
Mega Bear's list of stuffs you gotta build in Minecraft to get the full experience:
• Dock. You can have a boardwalk with some boats docked by it. Old concept, but I've only seen it by successfully created by the Yogs.
• Missile Silo. This can be made out of a mountain, dug into the ground, or built. Basically it's a cylindrical tube about fifty blocks tall, more if you wish. The best diameter of the silo at its longest point should be twenty or thirty blocks for realism. Inside the silo, you can put a circular staircase leading from the bottom to the top. The final touch would be, of course, the missile. You can use smooth stone as the body, but that would be kind of primitive. A more expensive but appealing body would be iron blocks. The tip of the missile would evidently be TNT. This makes for a realistic warhead with as much use as a real one, that is if you'd like to detonate the silo. It's still a pretty neat thing.
• Artificial Enclosure/Hunting Grounds. Make a very big room underground, about 100x100x10 for the most eye pleasing look. The floor should be grass, which would require either hacking in a few grass blocks or creating a staircase. This will allow passive mobs to spawn. You can also create a lake and plant some trees to make it more wild. Place torches if you want passive mobs to spawn, leave it dark for hunting grounds. You can then create viewing rooms inside the wall with glass windows to look into the large enclosure. It's like a little zoo!
• Volcano. This may require a lot of time and resources, but its a cool idea. Find a large plot of open water, and create a 30x30 or larger island of pure stone. Then you can make a big volcano on it with lava pouring out. If you REALLY want to get fancy, add dark wool blocks above the volcano to make it look like there's smoke coming out, but this isn't recommended.
• Mine Transportation. If you have a large staircase leading to the bottom of your mine like me, create lots of minecraft tracks and a minecart and place the tracks on the staircase. Then you can just ride to the bottom, successfully saving yourself a ten second walk to the best mining area. You can use booster rails to get back up, but that is more complex.

Re: Ideas/inspiration needed
Delaying project until 1.7. Still wanting ideas and things to inspire me. Try to give ones like mega did. Not like "O MAKE A CASTEL!"

Re: Ideas/inspiration needed
I, too, am waiting until 1.7 to make any new world.
• Stonehenge. I built one one time and it was cool.
• Giant creeper statues, made out of green wool.
• UFO crash site. Have a UFO, or any air vehicle for that matter, in a ditch with a trail of fire and stone behind it.
• Meteor impact zone. This one is like the UFO crash site, but instead the meteo is made of obsidian and its crashed into the side of a mountain.

I think it would also be cool that, if someone was walking into your treasure room, you could have pressure plates that squish them with pistons.

Re: Ideas/inspiration needed
Still looking for ideas you know. Also I can go much further on projects because...
1. Massive caves everywhere. Most un-explored
2. massive mine lots of caves in it
3. huge forests that would kill to be chopped down.
1234567890. tons more

Re: Ideas/inspiration needed
Build a giant creeper out of moss stone and cobble, but have little chunks missing from it and cobble laying around to look like it is very old. Even better, build it on a beach and have it partially in the sand for a cool Planet of the Creepers scene.
