Re: Terraria
I have been following developement of Terraria for months now. I bought the day of its released, and have played it non-stop since. I wrote a review of it on Steam:
I can not express how very entertaining this is. Just buy it, this is the next Minecraft, the next Dead Space, the next revolutionary game that will spring up multiple clones in an attempt to ride the massive wave that Terraria creates.
btw the wave hit japan :O
EDIT: Pirating the game is still sue-able, despite the wonderful disclaimer you provided. You didn't pirate it from what I understand, you Google'd it. Still, distribution of illegal goods or services is just as bad as production of said goods or services. It's pretty basic stuff if you've spent ten minutes reading about how laws are enforced and the criteria certain acts need to fall under each category of crime.

Terraria is going to go down in history alongside other sandbox RPG game likes Dwarf Fortress and Minecraft. One may go as far to say that its mining system is more balanced than Minecraft! Despite that, it is pretty much a combination of the two games. You can build a settlement for NPCs to live with you in, like Dwarf Fortress. You mine and craft, like Minecraft evidently. There's also a wonderful amount of strategy. At night monsters spawn outside and in caves, making day your only window of opportunity, so you must decude on what you want to do that day or save it for later, because going underground is very dangerous at night, as is going above ground. All in all, the only downside to this game would be the slime monsters. They spawn all over the world on lit-up grass, so you will find some inside your caves pushing you off ledges occasionally.
Buy this game. NOW.

Re: Terraria
How can it be so good if its in 2D format?
All 2D games that I've tried get boring in a week or so.

Re: Terraria
Think: Minecraft, but with more ores, WAY more items, bosses, better dungeons, scattered treasure chests, deeper mining, better monsters, NPCs, your own town with said NPCs, all in a sexy 2D package.Cookieman wrote:How can it be so good if its in 2D format?

Re: Terraria
I've looked into it, and it looks alright actually, i'm put off by the lawsuit risk though.
For that one reason, I might not download it, by the way, does it have online stuff?
