NationStates
A fun game where you create your own government and address issues. I'm still getting the hang of it at the moment, but it seems fun.

Choose your flag, name your nation, then decide the political structure. Kind of goes in hand with the forum game that will be introduced on Monday.

Bump. I picked this game up again. It's actually kind of fun to put your political ideas to the test by developing a nation based on them. From what I see, liberal (democrat) nations seem to do way better than conservative (republican) ones.

Meh its boring takes forever for issues thats really all to do...im in true rebirth tho
Re: NationStates
Yeah, I wish we had an option to get more issues per day. But if you're bored with issues, you can always apply to vote in the World Assembly.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] is my nation. I'm trying to eliminate all forms of economy so it can be a true communistic country and therefore remove all forms of big business (although my private sector is flourishing so ... darn) as well as poverty. I'm also trying to get as many equal rights as possible. Yesterday I allowed public nudity at any time, and outlawed racist remarks and religious intoleration.

Here is my nation. It is actually kind of cool to see how your nation's govt. and people grow based off your decisions.

Re: NationStates
I banned elections of the national leader and political freedoms dropped by thirty points. Doesn't really bother me since I am the national leader and can't be corrupted by offers imaginary people give me.

Re: NationStates
In my nation being nude is uncommon but in parts of gothboy people do walk around nude, not like a protest, but as a party of peace.
Gothboy is a fair nation for peace, equality, and freedom.

LOL YOUR CITIZENS ARE TARDED. All my citizens are allowed to be nude wherever and whenever they want. I am also in the top 10% of the world for "Most Pacifist" and "Least Corrupt Governments." Swag.

I just made it maditory for prisoners to give blood. I see it like this: they spill blood, they give it back.
Re: NationStates
I took it to the next level! Anyone who dies mandatorily donates their organs, but prisoners' bodies are used for whatever the government wants.

Legalization, Regulation of; Marijuana wrote:Marijuana is legal. The use of marijuana is encouraged and is used for many types of medicines and products.
The Commonwealth of Gothboy also makes most of its daily products with hemp, such as rope, clothes, fuel, sun screen, and other useful items.
Hemp is also the nations number one revenue, bringing in over 2.7 billion Weedbucks a year.
Glad to see Gothboy is making use of the new Factbook feature.

Nah, they're just available on your nation's page. I read the factbooks of everyone on my dossier which is how I stay up to date.

Re: NationStates
Workers across the nation have gone out on indefinite strike over what they claim are substandard wages in the Tourism industry.
The Debate
"We are the backbone of this country, and we demand a fair wage rise!" says union leader Roger Shiomi. "I don't think a 20% increase over two years is too much to ask. Unless the government forces employers to give us our due, we'll shut this whole industry down! Let's see how well Gothboy's economy manages without any Tourism, huh?"
"We pay our employees very generous wages," says employer representative Freddy King. "Especially when you consider that without us, they'd be OUT ON THE STREET. Hear that, you scumbags? OUT ON THE STREET! Anyway, my point is, if you cave in, you make our entire industry uncompetitive. You can't do that in the global marketplace. It'll hurt the whole country. The best solution, economically speaking, would be to relax industrial laws and allow us to fire troublemakers on the spot."
STUMPED ON THIS!
If i choose option 1, i lose jobs because minimum wage goes up. I lose jobs because the employers will hire less people if they are paying more per employee.
if i choose option 2 i may lose tourism, but my ecomomy will benefit. Hm.
EDIT: after going over it i chose option 2. I think people will keep working because they need the job. But, some may start protests, which i am willing to deal with as long as I get to keep my touring industry

I had that one a few days ago. Choose option one, 20% over two years is going to give the economy plenty of time to adapt. In addition, your economy will earn a few points. Choosing option two won't actually benefit the economy, if anything it's going to drop by a few points due to the loss of tourism funds and paying jobs. However, if you ever get the chance to relax industrial or commercial regulations/laws without any negative repercussions, go for it.
