Brick Mania Global Empires
BRICK MANIA GLOBAL EMPIRES
The strategy game where you battle for world daomination, by means of forum posts and dice rolls!
HOW TO PLAY:
This game will be run by me. I have a 20-sided die and will roll it each week to decide whether or not certain events happen. This die will be reffered to as the Decider, for easier compehension and writing of this guide.
1. Money. You start off with $1000 and can use this any way you want.
2. Population. You begin with 1000 population, divided into three types of population. Soldiers are used to defend your land. Civilians earn you money and give you more population. Political figures prevent political reformations, which can result in one of your cities joining a different nation, thus taking some of your resources or money with them.
2a. Here are how civilians work:
20%x = z where x is how many civilians you have, and z is weekly income. You get z amount of dollars based on how many civilians you have times 20%. The same goes for resources, where z is weekly resource income.
Example: I have 100 civilians. I get $5 a week because 100 times 20% is five.
2b. Here's how soldiers work:
When attacked, I will roll the Decider based on two statistics - ammo and soldiers. The winning nation in a battle loses 5% of their soldiers and ammo, and the losing nation loses 10% of their soldiers and ammo.
2c. Here's how Political Figures work:
They keep political uprisings from happening. In an uprising, cities or population may join another player's nation. Players can give speeches that sway the other player's nation.
3. Resources. You need coal, iron, and lumber to keep your nation working.
3a. Your amount of coal must be at least 50, or some population will die.
3b. Iron is required for soldiers. Your iron count must be at least 50 or else your soldiers don't have enough ammo.
3c. Lumber count must be at least 50 as well.
4. Embargos and Alliances. These are how you form relationships with other empires.
4a. Alliances are friendships. You and an ally defend each other and are willing to sell each other resources for a low price. In an alliance, your military forces are combined, so iron must be sufficient from both empires, or one empire can provide the majority of the iron, all iron, etc.
4b. In an embargo, you're not at war, but you refuse to trade with the embargo'd nation or their allies. Your allies will also refuse communication with them.
5. Trading. To trade, reply to the topic presenting a deal. The player your trading can modify the deal until both of you agree on the trade.
6. Combat. When invading a city, the two (or more, depending on alliances) players' amount of soldiers and ammo will be averaged, and the likelihood of them winning based on this will earn them more numbers on the Decider. When I roll the Decider, they have a greater chance of their numbers being selected, and therefore they win. When you attack someone, the terrain does in fact matter. Mountains give the defending country a bonus and rivers give the attacking country a bonus.
7. Random events. Of the twenty sides on the Decider, all of them have been assigned a random event. These range from "Found a gold vein in the coal mine! +$500!" to "Hurricane! Lose half of all your population classes and $450." The odds will be 30% positive outcomes (you gain something), 50% neutral outcomes (you don't lose or gain anything), and 20% negative outcomes. Here are the outcomes:
• "Found a gold vein in the coal mine! +$500!" Side 1
• "Peasants join a city! +40 civilians!" Side 2
• "New religion founded! +20 political figures!" Side 3
• "Unified a nearby collection of tribes! +100 soldiers!" Side 4
• "New law passed! +20 political figures and +$50!" Side 5
• "New law passed! +50 civilians and +50 soldiers!" Side 6
• Neutral event so it doesn't matter, I'm not writing dialogue for this crap. Side 7
• Neutral event so it doesn't matter, I'm not writing dialogue for this crap. Side 8

• "Stock market crash! -$300!" Side 17
• "Weaponry accident! -40 soldiers!" Side 18
• "Terrorist attack! -30 political figures!" Side 19
• "Mass suicide! -30 civilians!" Side 20
8. RP Actions. You can make statements to go along with the RP nature of the game, but will have no impact on events in the game, only players' decisions. Example: "I am scouting one of your cities with soldiers." Would mean my soldiers are in your territory. This means nothing at all, but let's you know that I may be planning something. Additionally you could say something like "My country's leader insulted your country's leader in a speech." To indicate tensions rising, when really this remark doesn't mean much at all. RP Actions are just ways of keeping the game lively.
WINNING THE GAME!
• Land Domination: Take over all nations through either combat or buying cities.
• Diplomatic Domination: After ten cities of any nationality have been taken over by any combination of players, I will open up a vote. The vote will list all the players and we will vote on who should win. To earn votes, you can give speeches about what you will do with the world after winning. To give a speech, just reply to the topic and let us know what the new govenrment will be like.
• Forfeit Domination: Have all other players forfeit. Note - forfeiting willcause your nation to disappear from the map, and all your resources, population, and money will vanish. Anything you were giving to people will be canceled, so if you were supplying someone with a weekly supply of coal due to their lack of mines, they now have to look elsewhere for it.

Re: Brick Mania Global Empires
May I suggest reducing my lumber count to 75, and my coal count to 80?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Re: Brick Mania Global Empires
Ok, right now I am testing the forum game thing.
I can use a "diceroll" for this. That way, the forum will generate the dice roll.

Anything affiliated with the status of your nation is merely affected by chance? No other factors?

Re: Brick Mania Global Empires
The member 'Gothboy77' has done the following action : Dices roll
'Global Empires Dice' :
Result : 2
So this being a 20 sided dice, I would get the result you used as number two.
If you look below when replying to a topic, there is an option to roll a dice, and a number of times.
Also, if you click on someones profile, you will see a "Brick Mania Global Empires" link. Click that to view yours, and others status.
Currently, only admins and moderators can modify it.
I can also choose what members are in the "game"

Re: Brick Mania Global Empires
It's at the current number because your civilians worked that much. If you have excess resources then you're in luck, as you can sell it or keep it for a rainy day.Gothboy77 wrote:May I suggest reducing my lumber count to 75, and my coal count to 80?

Actually READING the OP would help.S7UFF 1T N003 wrote:Anything affiliated with the status of your nation is merely affected by chance? No other factors?
Also, it's funny how we're not rwally going to get any events until next week, as stuff only happens once a week.

No world map. There is no time era. All countries are an island. Wedge would never join our forum, that's a dumb thing to ask.dafrandle wrote:what era is this in? i still don't know

My soldiers are also currently occupying the mountain on Oleen Island of Lolasia. Gothboy, you can either take diplomatic action and negotiate with me, pay me to leave, or declare war.

What I meant was:dafrandle wrote:thought you only said things happened weekly or can we take actions through the whole week
You can perfrom actions like war, trade, etc. at any time. Random events, gaining money and resources from the civilian population, etc. happens weekly. Anything that isn't controlled by me/the game you can do at any time.

Haha too bad your 1/3 of the soldiers you have there fell into the volcano
That island was made with Hawaii in mind lol
Are all of your soldiers there, or..?
BTW, click your profile and you can see your stuff

Your soldiers are a being as a whole. When I say my soldiers are somewhere, it means they're all there. If your soldiers are defending their land, all of them are.Gothboy77 wrote:

Also my soldiers are still there, volcanoes don't make a difference.
It's simple, you're just too stupid to read the OP, let alone maintain an attention span of ten seconds at all.Darksnow wrote:OT: I would join if I understood this shit.

Re: Brick Mania Global Empires
Hm, I think we should take natural disaster in account depending on the countries terrain.
For instance, since side 6 has nothing we could make it:
"All nations with a volcano have a volcanic eruption" Destroy the nearest town to the volcano, -50 civilians, and kill off half of mounted enemy soldiers
or
"All nations with mountains have encountered a small earthquake" Destroy the nearest town to the volcano, -50 civilians, and kill off half of mounted enemy soldiers
Or something similar
