NPC Villages look pretty awesome. I'm glad they're not just a bunch of wooden huts put next to each other. I'm closely examining the image to see if any of the NPCs are actually visible, though they may not have even been added yet.

In addition, you can see a giant mushroom in the picture. This raises many questions; What will the blocks do? Will they be collectable? Will these spawn on the surface or underground?

There's also what appears to be sme kind of stack of white logs with a collection of unknown brown blocks atop it. My guess is that it is a partially destroyed giant brown mushroom, as there is a red one identical to its smaller counterpart visible.

EDIT: I found a picture of ruins. Jeb and Notch are getting crazy with Google+

If you look at the ruins, in the "room" to the right there appears to be a door, but its partially hidden by the stone (maybe this is the new moss stone texture?). Damn this is gonna be a good update.

EDIT: Those stone blocks also have three variants; cracked, mossy, and smooth.

I just saw the blog post about the new Minecraft mob. It's going to be Slenderman (Notch even called it "Enderman" so the latter is the official name) and it will move blocks around off in the distance or some shit. It sounds like we're finally getting that Herobrine monster we've always wanted. I'm super excited for 1.8 now.

I'm looking kind of forward to it, and I bet Darksnow is bursting with excitement.

I just watched the Yogscast episode where they teach Athene to play Minecraft.
