Do you have to be on a certain difficulty?

They only spawn in forest and taiga biomes, and are reasonably rare. In addition, they spawn on all difficulties.

Yes, even peaceful.

They are the easyest to find on any difficulty but on peaceful, they are hard as fuck to find unless you are S7.

Cleaned up the thread, added info about Beta 1.5 with facts taken directly from Notch and Jeb's Twitter. Also added a video about a possibly upcoming feature that Jeb stated he would like to implement.
