Mega Bear Mods
All of Mega Bear's Blockland add-ons, all in one place!
Mega Bear is a map-maker, though he also has done many other jobs like fixing the Old School Rifle (with Gothboy's help), created a face pack (he hates it!), helped someone produce a Batman-themed decal pack, and takes requests for faces and decals. Occasionally one of Mega Bear's mods may be released here early, so follow the thread closely for an update, an exclusive release could be the next big thing!
Maps - Maps made by Mega Bear.
• [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] - Mega Bear's first map. Recieved great response. It's an island with a small forest and two sand-bar sized plots of sand off the coast.
• [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] - A map based off of Halo's most popular battlefield; Blood Gulch. Includes red and blue base, unique sniping locations, and my own experimental texture shading (between sand and grass there is a pink-tinted sand). Has recieved good reception in the first hour it was released.
• [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] - A large desert with three pyramids and an oasis.
• [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] - An abandoned oil drilling island with a village, radio tower, oil derrick, and forest. It's very good for fort wars.
• [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] - An abandoned farmstead on an island. Great for zombie games.
• [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] - This is different from the Brick Mania exclusive map. It is set on a jungle island and has two military camps on the shores, and some hangars in the jungle for TDMs/DMs.
Other - Decals, sounds, music, fixed add-ons.
• [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] - Pictures found by erikthephantom, resized and shaprened by Mega Bear. Recieved good reception in general.
• [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] - Started out as an attempt to create faces of well-known memes and faces that would be useful in RPs, but evolved into a piece of shit.
• [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] - Bushido's classic gun, fixed by Mega Bear and Gothboy. First gun ever to include a working scope!
• [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] - A collection of sounds from the game "Toribash".
Exclusive Add-ons
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] - A map with two bases and a chokepoint. Takes place in a cleared forest and is based lightly off battlefield of the Civil War.

Re: Mega Bear Mods
There's an exclusive add-on up there, test it for official recognition if Ephi unbans me from uploading add-ons (fingers crossed, he's likely to unban me).

Re: Mega Bear Mods
I got some ideas that have never been done. Battlefeild 1942 maps! Not any expantions 'n shit, but just the ones in the regular Battlefeild 1942. Rip some textures from the game if I can do that and send them to you. That kind of shit.

Re: Mega Bear Mods
Might be do-able. I was thinking of making some TF2 maps.Darksnow wrote:I got some ideas that have never been done. Battlefeild 1942 maps! EDIT: Ephi's unbanning me soon. Beta testers for my add-ons will receive recognition on all they test.

Can someone test the exclusive map in the OP? It was tricky to make and I'd like to know if it works.

Re: Mega Bear Mods
Tested the map and found a bug:
1) The image for the map is still "Unknown Map" this is because the name has underscores. You can use spaces in the script, but not for the actual file name.
The map is small, but good, considering the player is small compared to the actual landscape.
I don't really like default grass, but it works fine I guess.
One last thing.
I noticed you used the TC Default Example Interiors for the brick walls. Not saying that its a bad thing, I just noticed it is all.
Overall I like the map. Just make sure to fix the major "map picture" bug.

2) Grass isn't default, it's from Jimmg's "Alpines" map. And the battlefield was intended to be small.
3) I had to use prefab because all the walls I made myself had collision errors
2) You have to make sure to include the texture from the map in the pack, otherwise it will appear as the default grass.
3) Ok, I definetly know what going wrong here lol. This is because of the way you export. Do you simply export them as a DIF, or did you make sure to export them as a Legacy DIF?
Blockland may be a newer game, but the way it runs isn't!
Anyways, if you need help hit me up and I can write up a quick guide for exporting.
AT LEAST SOMEONE BOTHERED TO TEST IT!
Srsly peeps come on.

2) I included the grass texture from the beginning, I wonder why it won't show up for you?
3) I always export as Legacy DIF, you taught me to back at RTB.
Though, I always like a new tip. I wouldn't mind if you told me a few things about exporting.

Re: Mega Bear Mods
UPDATE: Working on a map based off one in Halo, Blood Gulch. It's the most popular Halo map ever, and it's coming along nicely. I have the boulder done ... just need to make the bases then get it all in-game.

Re: Mega Bear Mods
Here're my refence pictures (slight page-stretch):
This is a VERY EARLY pic of the base. I know it's boxy, don't criticize for it, please. I'm still working on it, I'm thinking it'll take about three hours to make then add details to.
The map won't include the caves, that, I believe, is not within Torque's power, even with interiors. It will feature, however, all the sniping locations, correctly placed boulders and ferns, textures that will (hopefully) be as accurate as possible, a new lighting, and skybox similar to the one in the picture.
Also, would anyone happen to know if Don Henley was ever a part of The Eagles? Some of their vocalizations sound exactly like him ...

Re: Mega Bear Mods
WOW thats a big map!
Anyways, how do you plan on making the cave entrance thingy? Torque is stupid like that and wont allow "horizontal tunnels"

Re: Mega Bear Mods
I think the caves are impossible to do unless I model the ENTIRE map in TC, which would be hard as hell. Anyway, the interior for the bases is almost done. I think it's coming out nicely, and once I get it textured, it will look exactly like the one in Halo.
As for the map size, I'm scaling it down, but going to keep it relatively big. I think what I'm going to do is create the box canyon, put all the stuff in it that belongs there, then have everything outside the canyon itself flat in case someone wants to host a freebuild and a TDM at the same time.
If anyone wants to create textures for me, I'd be very happy. I've got a grass one done already, so all I need now would be the reddish brown for the canyon walls, and two types of sand; one with an orange-red tint and another that is ... sandy-colored.
EDIT: Anyone have ideas for the teleporter?

Re: Mega Bear Mods
Teleporter will have to be done with bricks via events.
Here are these 3 textures you asked for
I made them myself in paint.net.
Tell me if chu approve.
P.S: They are all 256x256 (perfect size), and the should look ok in game. I havent tested them yet though :3

Re: Mega Bear Mods
I like the canyon wall one, going to use it, but the others
I don't like quite as much. I think I'm going to rip some
textures and then modify them a bit.

Haha, ok with me :3
Ima test my textures in-game real fast
Re: Mega Bear Mods
If you can, I'd like to see what they look like in-game, because I just didn't like how they looked at first, but they may look better on actual land.

Double post!
This is the finished interior. It seems all right, I just don't really like the textures I chose for it ...

Re: Mega Bear Mods
I searched for a texture website. Found the most amazing one. Ever.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Gothboy I'm sorry but the textures there are too good.
And there was a Blood Gulch map before the add-on update in v9. But it was crap and no one liked it. That makes this pretty much the first successful (hopefully) Halo map publicly released. I'm putting all my possible work effort into this map. Halo is so nostalgic for me. The game introduced me to PC gaming, and has held a very special place in my heart ever since.

Re: Mega Bear Mods
It's fine, I understand. Besides I had trouble using them in the map anyways, my damned mission editor kept showing them as default textures.
